Hii nah,
I think I could agree to that. Because if you exit at Jasin Toll House to the AMJ junction, you may not enjoy the scene. The roadsides are bordered with only oil palms, not much to see.
Well if you enter Air Keroh Toll Plaza your tour of Malacca can start there itself.

ECO-TOURISM PARK
Hii nah,
If that is your choice wecome to Melaka/Jasin.
I'll introduce you to another attraction not far from the junction. There's an Eco-Tourism park. In fact I'm trying to get there tracking, but don't know when.
As you leave the junction around N2 15.289 E102 26.871 - it's about 500 metres from that junction - a sign board on the left side of the road will confirm the destination.
Just enter do some quick tracking, before leaving for Malacca town.

Hii nah,
I went to the location this morning (Sime-Eco Retreat). It is about 250 metres from the Jasin-Merlimau / Toll Junctin.
Picture of Sign Board - attached.
I was not allowed into the retreat. The Guard at the Guard Hosed told me one
need to get permission from the Management. He was not much of a help, he dose'nt know many thing.
Anyway on checking the Internet I found the following Website:-
http://plantation.simedarby.com/Eco-Tourism.aspx
Person in charge according to the site is one En' Othman Tambi Chik at (606) 2635157
Have a try

Hi,
Went to Melaka via the above route during last weekend 8 August. Was there at about 1315hr, traffic was smooth, no jam at all(maybe it is after the jam timing, not sure. Even if it jams, i don't think it is as bad as driving thru Ayer kerok). Starting of the is a one lane trunk route and then followed by two lane highway with 2-3 triffic light before reaching Melaka town. Over all very smooth, highly recommanded.

there is no jam on malacca except around or heading to Dataran Pahlawan on Friday and Saturday.
Only a little jam. At tesco Malacca, no jam there. only frust waiting for traffic light.
Overall, no jam at Bandar Melaka on normal days. Jam only on festival days
