My idea according to priority:

1) KL to Kuala Kangsar (NSE) , Grik, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Kuala Besut.

2) KL to Gopeng (NSE) , Gua Musang, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah Besut.

3) KL to Kuantan ( Karak ) , Kemaman, Bukit Besi, Kuala Terengganu, Kuala Besut.

Thank you!!

You did not say how fast you intend to get there.

#2 will be fastest.
#3 and 1 is long but 1 scenic.

There is another option via Raub. You can choose to join Cameron or Gua Musang when the road branch. The old and nearest way is head for Gua Musang.

chinwy , thank you very much for your confirmation. My target is drive early morning and get there before 12.30pm. Was thinking to make the journey within 6 hours or less. Do you think it's possible?
