Thanks all, how about the north south? should be all the way from JB, anything I shall take note, if travel all the way from SG using North South?

For smooth passage to bypass KL, just after Nilai Exit northwards, there's a major junction, take the ELITE expressway towards Shah Alam, then follow signs to Ipoh. See map here: http://www.plus.com.my/index.php?id=our_expressways

If holiday season.... the traffic jam at C Highland is terrible. From Eq Hotel to downtown can take 2-3 hours!... This is not a Joke.... I'm serious. It took us > 1 hour to cover the last 10km to Eq Hotel coming from Simpang Pulai side.... Hope this helps.
Common Sense Is Not Common.

Correct. Bypass KL at all cost if you are going north. Use the Elite Highway.

Exit the E2 on to the E6 at Nilai. Stay on the E6, pass the KLIA exit and onto Shah Alam where you will join the NKVE. Ypu will then rejoin the NSE E1 at Damansara. Follow the route shown on the Plus map suggested by our Bro Naim.

The only thing to remember is to avoid E6 between Shah Alam & Damansara exits during rush hours, am/pm on weekdays. :)
Pls see my travelogues at http://naim.my - THANKS!

Now Bro Naim is going to suggest that if you want to bypass the Shah Alam-Damansara stretch during rush hour by uisng the Guthrie Corridor Expressway. I totally recommend it for those travelling from South to North and want to completely bypass the madness of KL and the rush hour congestion of Subang/Damansara (including at 7pm at nights).

The map is here http://www.gce.com.my/maps.html

The route is E35 and access it by exiting the E6 at Bt Jelutong and then on straight to GCE E35 and rejoin NSE E1 further north at Rawang.

Hahaha... you are suggesting it already, drsec. Use E35 if HAT passes by 7am-9am, 5pm-7pm, weekdays. :)
