Rafflesia in Ulu Geroh,Perak

Postby Lalatbotak » Sun Oct 04, 2009 2:07 am

No need to travel to Sabah to see Rafflesia flower. Need only to go to Ulu Geroh ,Gopeng. They have the most abundant
Rafflesia cantleyi blooms over there.

Flower Buds needs 9 months to develop

Postby Lalatbotak » Sun Oct 04, 2009 10:11 am

The flower buds needs about 9 month to be fully develop and only blooms for about 5-7 days.
Ulu Geroh is in the My Asean Free Maps. Should make the once in a life time trip to Ulu Geroh
to view the fantastic blooms.

Hii bro Lalatbotak,
Any specific locations coordinates, so that one could just drive there?

And, at the same time I'm requesting your permission to use your image in r.jpg
(picture of lalatbotak) in our [Website of Regular Members].

Thanks

You Can you all the photos!

Postby Lalatbotak » Sun Oct 04, 2009 12:30 pm

Brother Moza!

You can use all of the photos as you wish!!
Its so easy to visit the Rafflesia site. All you need to do is to phone the
Village Tok Batin En.Ahha about your intent to visit the flowering site. He will then call you to inform
whether the Rafflesia is in bloom or not. He will only take you to the site when the Rafflesia is blooming.
By the way you can book a nice lodging at Adeline Resort right in the smack of Ulu Geroh jungle or cheaper still
you can sleep at the Semai Rafllesia Hall. Dont miss this opportunity Moza!! Its only a one day trip.

Brother Robo!

Iam not sure about the Rafflesia in Cameron Highlands. But you need to contact the Tok Batin or
orang asli guide to inform us when the flowers are blooming then only you can make your move to the
area.

I did that at Ulu Geroh, the Semai Tok Batin will phone me when the flowers are blooming. After that I just
jump into the car and drive straight to Ulu Geroh.

Its the only way to view the world's largest flower!! Rafflesia blooms all year round . If youre lucky
you will witness 5-6 blooms per patch! Pengsan ooooi.....

Adios! and Good Luck!!!
