Trip to Northern Vietnam

Postby trekker1 » Thu Apr 08, 2010 3:07 am

:)
I went to North Vietnam on 28th February 2010, it was a 9 day trip for me, journey ended on the 8th, March 2010.
Landed at Hanoi Noi Bai Airport all by myself, my friends were to arrive one day later. I couldnt get a seat on the same flight with them, therefore I have to fly in to Hanoi one day earlier #-o .

I'd booked a Hotel near the Old Quarters of Hanoi through the internet, upon arrival I boarded a local taxi, and show him the address of the hotel I'd booked, but the taxi driver took me to another hotel, which is 2km away from the Old Quarters (Old Quarters is where most tourist would hang out in Hanoi), may be he would get commissions if he send customer there, luckily I was equipped with Vietnam map and a Nuvi :-' , knowing this is not the hotel I wanted to stay, I refuse to get out of the taxi, so the taxi driver got no choice but to take me to where I wanted to go. He was quite amazed how come I know the way in Hanoi,(at one time I even instructed him to turn right  ) he asked if I'd been to Hanoi before \:D/ . I was monitoring the route since we left the airport, the taxi driver doesnt know that because I had turned off the voice of my Nuvi. GPS really saved me this time.. [-o< otherwise.... :ko:

The following day my friends arrived in Hanoi, and we started our journey to the Northern region of Vietnam in a Van, there were 10 of us including 3 locals.

Here are some of the photos taken during our trip, please enjoy.....
