I had put 10x in discoverable mode but ipad2 did not detect it.

Probably no drivers in iPad to support the 10X. And 10X legacy product so no updated firmware :cry:

Have just discover that it can be done but have to break the forum rule nos 6... :-#

I downloaded an Gramin MFM NT map (unlocked) version and put it to my iPhone 4 Garmin. Now the address is working but the POI like petro station is still not showing up.

this is my story of installing the Garmin USA and MFM map on my iPhone...


I've downloaded Garmin USA and installed it as normal.

Then I followed guide from FaZo on Page 2 of this thread to copy the map in folder "var\mobile\Applications\[xxxxxxxxxxxx]\garmin-nav.app\storage-usa\.System".

Somehow when I reached folder "storage-usa", I cannot find folder ".System". I go to setting, and set "Hidden Files" to ON, and go back to the folder "storage-usa", and wholla, the folder now appears.

after paste the map in that folder, I tried to open the garmin usa apps and the authentication failure error comes out.

Following tips from phanghy, pos, klse82 and kaplex, I then edit "/etc/hosts" and insert the followings at bottom of line (open the "hosts" file by using Text Viewer) :

127.0.0.1 Garmin | United States | Home
127.0.0.1 gold.garmin.com

then I respring my iPhone (not sure needed or not, but I just do it) and tried to open garmin usa apps, it crash, tried it for another 3 times, and the third time, it work! :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

me also. just tried the address search, and it crash. POI working fine luckily...

street address can be find using POI. just try n error and it works. :thumbsup: :thumbsup:

btw, anybody has managed to put JCV (junction view) file?
I tried with MFM's JCV from garmin website and put inside .../storage-usa/.System/JCV tapi tak boleh lah! :(

download the maps installer from garmin (http://www.garmin.com.sg/mapupdate/), run the installer, the installer ask for the serial number, goto find the temp folder created by the installer for the map and jcv files... (dont click cancel at the installer of course, or else the temp folder will be removed).
