are u sure we need a hard reset?

Hard Reset
Hard reset only works if you had previously updated the phone to v20. Please make backup before applying this type of reset, since it will restore the phone’s settings as well as erasing all the data in the phone memory.

1.Switch off the phone.
2.Press GREEN + RED + CAMERA + ON simultaneously until you see the “Select Country” option.

As in my earlier post, i do mentioned there is not required hard reset after firmware update if u read properly. But personally, i find the phone work better for me after hard reset, and this is my finding. Of course i had try both method before, the firmware update without hard reset and update with hard reset. The CHOICE is always yours.

No kinetic scrolling, no N97 homescreen. [-(

Changes:
This software release comes with an advanced e-mail application, an improved navigation experience, and several performance improvements. With Nokia Messaging, you can quickly set up and use your e-mail accounts using an application that is optimised for mobile e-mail. An enhanced version of Ovi Maps 3.0 is also included.

In order to check for your phone firmware version, simply head to the main menu by pushing the middle button on your phone.

Next, tap on Settings (this has the spanner icon) and then choose Phone and scroll down to find the Phone Management utility. Tap on this and choose Device Updates. The page that appears will tell you the latest software version for your Nokia 5800.

Previous firmware version
31.0.008
30.0.011
21.0.025
20.0.015
11.0.008
10.0.010

Latest Update: 31.0.101 is now available on FOTA & NSU.
FOTA only needs 9MB data download.

Hey guys! i just changed my phone to the 5800 Xpress Music.. had gmxt 5.00.30 installed.. with 1.43 and later 1.44 map..

would like to share the most noticible changes compared to 5.00.30 on my n95.. THERE IS NO DELAY OR LAG!!!

when i am at a turning, while turning gmxt will show exactly where i am on the map.. all the way! comparing the gps speed to my car's speedometer, it is almost immediate (i slam emergency break and gmxt will immediately drop down to zero.. ok la, not immediate but can see the speed drop suddenly and after a second will show 0)

THIS IS GREAT!! I LOVE MY NEW PHONE!!

note: i had some problems installing gmxt on 5800 initially, it kept saying 'expired certificate'. if you encounter such a problem, do a soft reset and after that you will be able to install. its a 5800 firmware bug.

Bro petercsh, if you do not want to use Garmin Bluetooth GPS and want to use internal GPS of Nokia 5800, you will need to buy Garmin Mobile XT software for Symbian phones available in MicroSD card. This software is transferable between any symbian phones by removing and plugging into slot of new phone thus is a one time investment

This is NOT the place to discuss the use of crack software. [-X

Thank you to "vash" for the guidance to set up my new Nokia 5800 for Garmin-enable.

Anyone know how to include other voice language like: Mandarin, Cantonese to 5800?

TQ

I am using fw 31.0.101, mobile xt 5.0.50.
It seems to jump off tracks into another road or into empty space when driving or even simulate route.
Very big problem as it recalculate to different road!
Do I need to transfer map from mapsorce instead of using the original compiled version?
Btw where to download update of 5.0.60?
