I told you it can be impossible to lock on when your tint is metallic like Vkool... How do you expect the satellite signal to penetrate when the tint acts as a shield (Faraday shield) when you cover up your car... After you have log on it will 'continued' to function.... crossed your fingers that it doesn't loose the signal in a concrete jungle like KL.... You have these choices...

1) Remove and install a tint that is non metallic
2) Cut a hole in your tint to allow the antenna to receive the signals
3) Use an external antenna

Hope this helps.... cheers!

Postby robfish88 » Mon Nov 17, 2008 3:55 am

Noticed when approaching roundabout, also in the top left corner is shows the round about however , it shows the driving direction to the right but should of-course from the left.

Does anyboy else has seen this issue?

yeah.. seen that on GMXT. what device/software u use? maybe it's for left-hand drive format.
anyway, it's just the symbol, the actual route is to the left, so it's no issue for me

Thanks for your reply , I am using NOKIA N95 -3 (US Version), Installed Garmin 5.00.10s60.9. TW, all works 100% , with of-course the latest Malfreemaps 1.22 . Just one minor issue is left is in the route settings, in TOOLS -> Setting -> Routing -> Route Preference Priority to HWY-1 and HWY- 3 , have no idea what kind of impact that has on navigating .

Regards Robert

Can your N95 8G use an external antenna? My N95 (non 8G) doesn't have an external jack for plugging in an antenna. I think your choice is limited to the first 2 suggestions.

a) Do I need to reinstall the program?
b) Will window tinting affect the reception?
c) In N95, they have an integrated GPS & assisted GPS? Is there any preference over the other? I tried both but it seems the same.

Thanks.

It happened to me too,in I did try the latest version (v5.00.10) also causing some issue. No doubt the interface of version 5 is very cool and user friendly but seems the old v4.20.20 is more stable.
