I'm trying out Garmin Mobile XT for SMARTPHONE V5.00.50s60.9 with my Nokia 5800 using malfreemaps (named as gmapsupp). I followed all recommended installation procedures installed Garmin XT and mailsing map in SD card \Garmin. But when I execute Garmin XT, I couldn't get it work and I noticed:-

a) when I'm at "GPS Info", it keep showing me "Acquiring Satellities"
b) In view map mode" keep showing "Searching for Satellites"
c) When I keyed in a address and hit GO or "Where Am I", it keep showing "Awaiting Better GPS Accuracy"...

I also noticed my GPS signal level only show 1 small bar and "GPS info" mode showed me only 1-2 satellite icon on the circle.. I never able to get 5 bars..

Tried many days and still can't get it works..

Help Me Please...

Yup it takes time to be ready to tell you the route, be patient. Want faster you must be at outdoor and don't block the antenna which is at the upper coner of your phone. More faster if you turn on The AGPS function. Be warn if you use AGPS it will use the data line if you don't have unlimited data line it will cause you a bomb on your phone bill. However you can use the wifi network for AGPS.

Once it got your GPS accuracy don't worry anymore it will run smoothly the start up is slow only.Faster if use AGPS.While you wait you can browse the route by clicking the triangle/car icon and you can drag the map see your route

The Garmin XT 5.00.50 still not very good will hang also when browsing map.

I updated my Nokia 5800's software to V 30.0.011. The garmin GPS seems to be more stable and locks on faster.

A silly question, How to avoid certain roads in Garmin?

Are you sure? In my Windows Mobile GMXT, there is further options via Custom Avoids, where you can add a stretch of road (Add New Road) or a selected area (Add New Area).
