A50 is a little bit lag compare to A10 because of RAM only 256MB.

Set advance task killer to auto kill certain/not frequently use background applications. Some background applications "kacau" especially when in tracking mode for a long distance. ](*,)

Thanks.
Sometime, auto kill will cause a lot of problem. Must be very expert to use. One of my friend lost all his sms because of autokill.
One thing I like A50 is the google street view. Other android phone in Malaysia region cannot install google street view.

No problem. 2 methods.
Method 1, i:create a new folder in your SDcard. Rename it to "Garmin". ii:Copy the MFM garmin map (gmapsupp.img) into the folder. iii:Then in your a50 navigation setting, click on the menu key then Map Info. iv:You check MFM-Garmin 110516 to select the map. v:It is very important to uncheck Malsing Map and City Navigator Sg/MY maps to prevent crash.
Method 2. If you don't have a SDcard, create a new folder in your internal memory. Rename it to "Map". Repeat step ii to v.
You can copy other country's map into the folder. As long as the file type is *.img, it will auto load the map. i.e indonesia.img, thailand.img.
repeat step iii. You can check other country maps with MFM-garmin map checked. It will not crash at all.
P/s: Method 2 can work on sdcard too.
bye

Bro zeevon, thanks for the valuable tip above

Zeevon, what format do I use the POI's alerts in the A50? Wav or MP3?

Ya la, damned irritating to see the onscreen alert and not hear the audio :fire:

Just like to check back any other forummer having this phone?

I'd like to get one A50 for phone + navigation purposes. Really fed-up with 'regular' android phones, satellite lock taking 2-3 minutes and sensitivity very poor.

I've used a Garmin BT receiver before which can lock even 10 meters from nearest window.

So my question is, A50 cold start takes how long? Sensitivity good enough in extra urban streets?

Hi bro alf,

is it accurate enough? Saw in your sig, 265w, can both the a50 and 265w offer the same gps performance?

Yes both do the same job but the A50 is faster and more pocketable than the 265, so I leave that permanently in my car.

Anyone has link to where I could download the Garmin .apk of this phone and install it in my android 2.2?

Screen size too small. Bad size for GPS, small screen usually cause accidents. Die getting lost?
