Re: GMXT work on new WP7?

As I said already, the GMXT available for Win Mobile WILL NOT WORK on WP7. Garmin will come out with a WP7 version (it is expected).

Thanks for the replies, guys.

I don't have a WP7 phone yet; thus the question on GMXT compatibility.

I tend to concur with tympg's comments - that old WM stuff will not run on WP7 as it is a new platform. I however, am not optimistic that Garmin will issue a WP7 version of GMXT; I think they have already killed GMXT!

just got myself the LG Optimus 7 from celcom.. now i know why cannot install d.

windows phone 7.. similar to iphone. microsoft restricts installation from anywhere except 'marketplace'.. an application to search and download both free & paid applications, games etc.. and is the only place to do so.

sad thing is.. cant get to install garmin.. :( there's not even a file manager..

but the GPS is damn nice.. the lock is fast.. really fast.. not even nuvi or my old nokia 5800's AGPS can beat it.. it is really fast.. but limited to bing maps (somehow i prefer bing maps over google maps.. it is faster  )

many applications uses gps location and so far is really fast and i dont need to wait at all..

:) if only i can get garmin to work..

so far is consistant.. tried it out on bingmaps while flying at 150km/h.. no jumping around unlike the nokia n95.. occasionally will jump here and there.. the nokia 5800's gps improved a lot, but nothing beats this phone..

the released a jailbreak software sometime ago, some hackers, but was taken down by microsoft

cant wait for another jailbreak to come.. i want to customize my ringtones and try my luck in installing gmxt

Prob with GMXT WM

Postby azlan96 » Thu Mar 03, 2011 7:02 pm

I have a HTC HD2 with GMXT, problem is, when I launch Garmin where dont have cell signal, Garmin will show that it is not registered and need to pair with Garmin receiver.

But if I got cell reception, GMXT launch normally without any prob. I tried flight mode also cannot use Garmin.

Die la like this if I become lost where there is no cell signal and Garmin cant start

my old HTC P3300 dont have that prob
