My ASEAN Free GPS Map Project

Hi all users,

I am encountering very frequent application hang issues whenever I browse the Maps for a certain period (under 3 minutes).

Worst thing is the program will not be able to be stopped and need a reset of the phone.

Is there any kindred souls facing the same issue and have solution?

Did you install the correct version?

There are 3 version.

1) For WM base pda phone.
2) For symbian phone, eg Nokia phone
3) Fot Symbian UIQ eg sony errisson phone.

You need the 3rd one, many mistook the 2nd.

Oh....one more version...for the palm os.... i think also part of symbian

what phone u use?

i think he's using SE P1i judging from the topic header...

Should work well since I've help to install on my brother in law a while ago. Have you use the most updated firmware? My brother in law P1i uses latest firmware. GMXT never hang and work well.

Regarding the application hangs under 3 minutes, that occured for me (on my SE P1i) before when I used the version of MSM map that was not compatible with Symbian. After I reverted back to the free map from MSM (Jan 08), that didn't occur anymore.

But I still do encountered the same problem that the Garmin MXT doesn't seem to exit properly and remains till I reset the phone.

Just updated the firmware to Version 5.00.10 from here: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/store/downloadsAgree.jsp?id=3941&product=010-11034-00&cID=138&pID=11413.

IMPORTANT: Remember to backup your 'My Location' entries BEFORE UPGRADING, the names were all 'garbaged' in my unit after the upgrade. Had to delete all entries and re-enter them ...


Will try it out a few days and see if it hangs or unable to exit properly, and revert here.

2 days has passed and Garmin MXT v 5.00.10 still running with MFM

wat BT gps receiver u using?

last time i use holux, it hangs....after i switch to garmin 10x...no prob at all....
