1. 2 rows of back to back terrace/link houses, with back lane in between
- one large polygon covering both rows or 2 seperate polygon?
2. 2 rows of side by side terrace/link houses, with side lane in between
- one long polygon covering both rows or 2 seperate polygon?
3. Row of Semi detached houses
- one small polygon for each block (i.e. 2 houses), or one large polygon covering the whole row?

I'm seeing all the 6 ways of drawing polygon mentioned above, not sure which is the preferred method, and not sure if more polygon (eg 10 small polygon for 20 semi-D houses vs 1 large polygon covering all 20 semi-D houses in a row) have any significant impacts to map refresh rate / lagging issue.

This is part of the sample done by me....

2. 2 rows of side by side terrace/link houses, with side lane in between
- one long polygon covering both rows or 2 seperate polygon?Same as answer 1
3. Row of Semi detached houses
- one small polygon for each block (i.e. 2 houses), or one large polygon covering the whole row? What we see on semi D is 2 unit in a block just like links house... it could be 15 units in 1 block but for Polygon we just cover that block by block

Since you have tried on the polygon you know how much it take to completea small area. That why you see 6 ways of polygon in MFM. I do the same just to complete an area, but will touch up when we have the time again..

The more things we put in.. it will have some impacts on the map lagging issue.
Hope others mappers can give more info...

I have decided not to add any more House polygons for normal housing estates in my coverage area, but I will continue to have House polygons in areas where houses are surrounded and dominated by other types of buildings / land use.

It will be a good move to make the map lagging issues solve.

"Show only used type" is self-explanatory: By checking this, you only see the polylines/polygons/POI types already in use in the MP file you are looking at.

As for the Mapping Reference, look here:
