You can dream on, bro. Garmin is not going to let you have new features without squeezing some cash out of your pocket :tease:

The emergence of PAPAGO devices and brisk sales will surely bring their :$gone: :$gone: down and provide better :$gone: features if they want to remain competitive

Hi All seniors

i have read this thread with much interest from beginning to end. i know i don't know much to contribute to JV but speaking as a driver, what would be important me in a JV is when at a glance, i can see and match the

1) feature JV visual (showing the roads and exits) on the screen to the exit lanes and roads coming up as i drive along ;

2) the signboards : even if i can't see the words clearly on the nuvi, at least at a glance the visual of the signboard does match what i see on the front in front.

i know my localised nuvi255W comes with JV but i find that with a quick cursory glance (due to the fact i'm driving and sneaking glances at my nuvi) i find with the small JV view is not of much usefexcept to visually confirm

1) the exit / landmark is approaching
2) i'm taking the correct exit
3) i'm taking the correct lane
4) i'm on the right direction

and even then it is not easy as the visual is really small for the garmin pre-loaded maps.

imho, if the JV is implemented for papago or for other devices, if the JV is shown on the whole screen so that visually at a glance the driver can tell he/she is on the correct approach and can visually match what is on the screen with what is on the road in front. other details of landscape (shrubberies), decorate details like advertisement signboards may not matter that much

just my two hundred cents worth! (someone mentioned two cents no longer worth much nowadays!) :)

i like what i had read so far, the beautiful work done and the effort put in. :good:

Thanks for your comment, bro thomashley

We had many meetings and discussions on how to make our JV pix most effective. Just as you suggested, we imagined ourselves in the driver's seat having only a brief glance on the GPS device. I am confident our JV pictures will be effective. If not, we just improve it further. No problem :D

MFM Junction View is progressively implemented into our Papago map. We have done >600 pictures ourselves

For Garmin map, we lacked the tool to implement junction view at this moment. We are all waiting for the day we are able to make Garmin junction view.

Hi, my first post. I had just gotten a MY/SG Nuvi 255W with JCV. I had spent the past 2 weeks playing around, comparing MFM vs MSM. I like what I see when comparing MFM vs MSM. MFM is certainly much more detailed and prettier. HOwever, for new drivers, JCV is certainly useful. Especially exiting expressways.

I look forward to the day where I can just use MFM with postal code search AND JCV. Is the "lack of tools to implement junction view" a $$$ issue or something else?
