:tq: bro edchuang & Zainalklj. It works but my situation is a bit different. I don't have a SD card so I put the MFM as gmapsupp.img while MSM as gmapoem.img. However, changing the MapID seems to work for MySin's file only whereas if both the MySin & Borneo files were joined by Gmaptool, it won't work (in the case where I put it as gmapoem.img).

Seriously, I don't know what is the impact of this MapID but it does help a lot

You can try creating all your Gmapsupp.img files using mapsource and than join it with Gmaptool. Just ensure that there are no duplicate map tile (same area) selected. Do not use Sendmap29.

Hope this helps....cheers!

You're most welcome.... Joey

With the recent announcement on re-alignment of new maps boundaries we may not have the luxury of combining maps anymore. Hopefully the two Maps can coexist together in one GPS without giving problem/s. This is most important for user of GPS that cannot rename files. eg. Nuvi.

Here is my get around if the worst (maps cannot coexist) happens.

- Use a micro SD card with an adaptor for my Nuvi.
- Create both maps Gmapsupp.img and rename them differently.
- Place both *.img into the SD card Garmin folder.
- When needed use my N95 to rename the Gmapsupp.img for use in the Nuvi....
- The Nuvi main unit will only have my original UK Gmapprom.img.

Fingers crossed and waiting for the change..... [-o< ... cheers!

Well, bro moey. That's if one got a 'card reader' handy. Those without... have to get it done at a PC lor.

Almost all new phones have microSD and phonecam nowadays, and include a file explorer that can rename files. That's your handy "card reader". :-'

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't it be easier if you kept 2 sd cards, 1 for MSM and the other for MFM?

Depends on personal preferrence. For old folks like me, the SD card is so small that I suppose I will lost it more often than load it onto the unit. :ko:

Keeping multiple SD card is another way of getting around the problem. The only problem is that the update is so often that it is hard to keep track of the maps loaded. With only one microSD I can name them to its original map's name and be sure of what I want to use. This is the greatness of having a PDA/3G phones. Just make sure you keep track of the filename when you rename.... It will be also hard to loose the only and one SD card you have in your GPS....cheers!
