1) Can post your completed polygon map here kah?
2) So that we can share the way each mapper maps their polygon and gain some experience each other.![]()
1) Of course. but I will prefer PM my mp for all Polygon Mappers.
2) Well, on the Polygon project begining stage I have already got this Idea, All the Polygon mappers able to share their experience each other. Then we can make our Polygon more beautiful. Now, I am investigating on the Rectangle Polygon drawing, I am noticed that after compile the mp file, some of the rectangle polygon angle was out, byright should be 90 degree, but it is not. All we need to discussion. We can discuss how to improve our Polygon project at Thread "Polygon drawing discussion". one thing I should know that my objective for this polygon project, Since I am first timer to draw Polygon, still many thing to learn, I need all to advise, which I should improve, try to give more comment as possible.
My Objective should be "SMART"= "Specific Measurable Achievable Realistic Time"
So My objective is "To complete the Nice Polygon on West coverage area of "Johor Bahru" by End of 2008"
Great idea Bro WeiQ00. I will do the same to pm all mappers my .mp to get feedback if everyone agree.

As for retangle polygon out of shape after compiling, the below is my finding:
I found out that when using the create rectangle object, after setting the first and diagonal point, during dragging of the polygon line, it is very important to maintain them according to the first 2 points and all corners 90 degree. And if after created, we use the rotate tools to do some fine adjustment, the rectangle shape will run out after compile.
The above are my current findling, hopes it is applicable.

Alamak, should post at Polygon drawing discussion. Sorry, Sorry,

Thanks in advance.

WeiQi00 wrote:when drawing Polygon, you're noticed that Road Polyline is offset of the road and it is not Parallel with the house compound. How do you going to draw the Polygon.
option A : just ignored it, Use Rectangle Polygon tool to draw the House Polygon as Google Map show.
option B : Use Freehand Polygon tool to draw the house Polygon Parallel with the Road Polyline.
Below Picture is the Example.
Which do you prefer to do it ?
So i will continue use the method option A.
but Option B drawing more nice than option A when 3D view on my nuvi.

Guys, I am not 100% sure what cause the shift. However, make sure you turn Tools->Options->Snap to grid OFF.
Garmin's coordinate system is not very precise. There may be slight change of coordinate data during map compilation. This may be the likely cause. Refer to FAQ # 17 below:

OH yes ! Sifu , You give me the answer already. my previously all Polygon project tick on "Snap to grid". I did investigating on it also.
after I untick "Snap to grid", make few sample of Rectangle Polygon object, then compile the mp file.

Thanks Sifu.

the Rectangle polygon shape no more running out.
Thanks Sifu.
My poly still not right angle thought the option is set to off. Tired of editing already, right now proceed on other area until solution found.

Just a thought suddenly come into my mind. Are we all using the same version of GPSMapEdit? And will it effect?
I am using GPSMapEdit 1.0.51.0
Anyone using different version?

Re: Polygon Drawing Discussion
My case:
1. Both case used create object-->Polygon Rectangle.
2. Both case never tick snag to grid.
3. Only different, one type polygon are exactly inline from north to south and east to west, where esle the one run out is at an angle from north to south(Slanting).
