When opening any MP file, don't forget to change to level 0 by pressing "0" key. Most of the time GPSMapEdit opens at higher levels where there are no objects.

OK got it..

Only Level 0 can view it..
So.. you just used blank map to polygon..

We notice that the track on MFM are no aline with google..
So if we were to do polygon on a blank map will it have any problem when we merge the polygon layer to track layer??

Copy necessary polylines for alignment and google earth offset from MFM IMG. Delete them when done before submission of the polygon MP file. ;-)

there no need to worry with setting level, just let bro antyong to decide it....

a proper way to create your own .mp is

1. Open MFM (6XXXXXX.img) in mapedit
2. Go to which area that you intended to draw up polygons
3. Go to 'Trim Map' on your mapedit icon toolbar, select the area and together hold right click mouse button at the same time and click trim outside.
4. Copy and paste selected map to new mp. file in mapedit
5. Set your own polygon ID in map properties. (Request antyong for polygon ID)
6. Save your own .mp with polygon ID name on it. eg 6XXXXXX.mp)
7. Submit and done!

antyong wrote:Just a rough guide:

1. Download and register GPSMapedit.

2. Inform me your area of interest. The reason is to ensure that no one is mapping the same area. Also, I can cut out a part of the main map for you as reference. Do not use the map IMG files. They are big in file size and contains existing polygons which will cause duplication later.

3. Start creating polygons. Don't worry about map header and level settings.

4. PM me your first version.

5. I will assign a Map ID to you. Use it to name your mp file.

6. I will also create an ftp account for you to upload your future updates.

7. Continued on from your existing map. Do not start a new map for new polygons.

8. If you are drawing polygons for different cities which falls into different maps, inform me for another Map ID.

9. Ask for guidance from more experienced mappers such as tympg, sabelt, koi and doraemon

Re-posting this rough guide....

I don't import your technical settings such as levels, etc so don't worry about it :)

Hi All,

I intend to start my first polygon drawing for Kota Kemuning and Bukit Rimau area at Shah Alam, Selangor as per attached.

Anyone currently drawing the same area or any objection?

:tq: :rox:
