Our maps handle partial search now. You can search for a word in the middle of the address, etc.
The way we name our roads, using the "xxxxx, J" format was done at the beginning of time when address searches had to be done from the beginning.
This is the time to review this practice and decide whether we want to retain the current format or revert to conventional naming. Please vote.
"Jalan XXXXX" road name again?

Re: "Jalan XXXXX" road name again?
For OSM, the standard is to give the names in full. Renderers to abbreviate as necessary.
Although at the moment none of the Garmin navigation software do automatic abbreviation, but I vote for the full name, since we don't really need the road name to be in front now.
You didn't have an option for "prefer full name, but can live with status quo". Else that would have been my vote.
I could also possibly go for "abbreviated name but in normal order, such as J Hilir 2", if left as option.

Re: "Jalan XXXXX" road name again?
If the search function can support Full or partial name search I prefer naming it the conventional way (Jln xxxx, Lrg yyyy).
Common Sense Is Not Common.
Re: "Jalan XXXXX" road name again?
I would prefer being able to omit the "J" or "Jalan" in searches. Just partial name for searches would be convenient.

Re: "Jalan XXXXX" road name again?
I do agree with Apisfires over the proper Capitals being used in naming. Kind of give its due respect like someone spelling your name with small latters in official function - looks funny.
The only consideration to use full spelling is for non local - first time users of your maps. Eg look into the Thailand maps. Imagine the Soi replaced with S. And you are the first timer in Thailand. Would be qute an issue.

Re: "Jalan XXXXX" road name again?
Previously this proposal has been put up for vote but after testing (During implementation of MSM in Mapking) searching for the road name took so long and thus, revert bck of putting the Jalan the back.
If putting "Jalan" in front will not affect the slowness during searching, I give it a Yes. ..It will be nice for those using TTS function & listening to those Mat Salleh pronounce "Jalan" rather than J.L.N. or J
...So for this to happen it must be "JALAN" & Not "J" or "JLN"
