My ASEAN Free GPS Map Project

Hi members,

Some of us don't mind spending RM200 for a set of GPSMapedit licenses. Most of the time, we have spare licenses available after activating GPSMapedit on our home PC or/and laptop. I hope those who have extra licenses can share them out with other mappers. These mappers want to contribute to MFM but do not find it worthwhile to spend the money on GPSMapedit licence.

If you have licenses available, please list down your nickname and the number of licenses you are willing to share. I will request from top to bottom.

For those who are in need of a license, please PM me. Current and new polygon mappers will be given priority.

Pardon me. Each license entitles how many installations?

I think I will create a VM (Virtual Machine) and share it out. That way, anyone can just copy and use it. No need to waste licenses.

Not sure 4 or 5. Can't find the info from gpsmapedit page. Maybe unlimited?

How about on the same laptop, I install mine and later my harddisk crash n I do a recovery....mapedit no more register version....

Paisei bro, I have no idea for this one. From what I see, mapedit will read a "Computer ID" on your PC and register this computer ID with your license key on their server.

I have no idea how and where this ID was generated from and if you reinstall or recover your OS, i am not sure whether will the ID still be the same? (need to test out to confirm)

As long as OS is reinstalled, any installation of GPSMapEdit using same key will trigger a minus 1 (-1) from the 5 installations allowed.

It is this reason that I am now very tempted to create a VM and have it dedicated solely for use with GPSMapEdit and all other map editing tools. This way, it allows the same VM to be use anywhere on any system without any worries of licensed installation max out.

left 3 of GPSMapedit license. already setup 1 license on my laptop..still need 1 license for backup if my Windows goes corrupted..
