More Restaurants POIs

Postby AW* » Wed Jun 03, 2009 9:46 am

can't wait to share the following with y'all.

At 3rd Mile Square Old Klang Road
1) City Village
Interior decor neat and modern - but check out their ceiling decor - interesting. New concept of WIFI - just bring yourself to surf - they provide pcs for your surfing or gaming experience. Con is the monitor(flat screen) are stuck to the wall, so if you're really surfing a long time or playing games, may get a crick in the neck or still shoulders. They're quite new, having been in business for about 6 months plus. Menu is still changing. Chef recommendations do not dissapoint but it is tad pricey considering the size of serving (too small in my opinion especially for 3 pax).

Ambiance : 3/5
Food (taste) : 4/5
Price : 3/5
Service : 3/4 (a tad slow, served wrong order to us -maybe new staff)
Cleanliness: 4/5 (But i didn't check the kitchen  )
Hours : 7.30am onwards for breakfast - 10pm, closed on sat and sun

2) Bernie's Pub
Where Happy People Meet - that's the tagline of this watering hole. Just next door to City Village. cool environment, not rowdy cosy. There's a pool table if you want to show off your skills. Can't comment on the food cos stopped by after dinner for a game of pool here.

Ambiance: 4/5
Food (taste) : can't say, didn't order any, didn't ask for the menu too. ](*,)
Price : standard
Service: 4/5
Cleanliness : can't comment - hard to see in the dim light
Hours : 6.30pm onwards

3) Pepper Cafe
Tried it once. Found that the price is reasonable and the food good. Choice of dining inside the cafe or al-fresco since it occupies corner lot. Proprietors very friendly and warm.

Ambiance : 3/5
Food (taste) : 4/5
Price : 4/5
Service : 3/5 - a tad slow - but the food is good.
Cleanliness : 4/5
Hours : oops. forgot to ask :prayer:

Note : The management of 3rd Mile Square will be holding a closed street party every last Friday of the month, for some good clean fun featuring live band and street dance all food and beverage outlet will be participating. 1st party held last Friday ( may 29th). Very happening, cool. Parking will be RM1 flat on party night. Not rowdy, great for family dinner or outing. Collective F&B outlets here are OldTown White Coffee, Madras Lane Chee Cheong Fun, City Village, Bernie's Pub and Pepper Cafe.

At Taman Desa OKR

1) Restaurant Mai Thai
:prayer: have yet to dine here comments unavailable for now :prayer: :prayer:

2) Srineelas
Serving authentic North Indian Cuisine. If you eat here, pls do try the masala thosai, rawa thosai, masala cha, etc., their curry dishes are good too. however they have increased the prices several times so to me that's a minus in my books. They have two shop units, one is airconditioned, the other is not, and as usual, they put out tables and chairs by the roadside for "al-fresco" dining. Oh, try the lassi drink especially banana lassi.

Ambiance : 3/5
Food (taste) : 3/5 (depending on whether the cook is new or senior staff)
Price : 3.5/5
Service : generally good although sometime slow (especially if place is crowded or their batch of staff is new) but always friendly
Cleanliness : 3/5 (clean but the floor is oily - i know i'm picky here but...)
Hours : 24 hrs. Closure - me thinks on May 1 (labour day) and Deepavali and Thaipusam. That's about it.

3) Bakeroni Cafe
Selection of asian and western fare (including beverages) based on proprietor's own recipes. Their soup is good. Going with their recommendation won't be dissapoint.

Ambiance : 4/5
Food (taste) : between 3 and 4
Price : 3.5 / 5
Service : 4/5
Cleanliness : 4/5
Hours : 11am till 10pm or so. Close : come to think of it, never see them closed. maybe cny.

Around Old Klang Road

1) Bah Kut Teh Jln Teluk Gadong
A small stall at Jln Teluk gadong, off the main OKR. a couple of shops away from NihonKai Japanese Restaurant.
Featuring teow chew style bah kut teh. Light in taste and colour, not salty. Fan of BKT with pork and innards will definitely like this. Appearance is deceptive as this stall has a sizeable fan base.

Ambiance : n/a
Food (taste) 3/5
Price : 4/5
Cleanliness : 4/5
Service : 4/5
Hours : 6pm onwards.

nikond300- Name of Cheras police station and a squash comple

Postby nikond300 » Wed Jun 03, 2009 10:34 am

HI All,

This is my 1st contribution and hope that everything is in order. The correct name of the Tmn Maluri police station should be known as Balai Polis Cheras.

The NSC Squash complex is a new waypoint and is the building icon acceptable?

Noble House and its associated Noble Banquet POI in Imbi area. Please note that Noble Banquet is not a walk-in restaurant, but is used by Noble House to hold large functions and wedding dinners, so it's only open if you are invited there :) Both are common venues for wedding dinners, so I feel they should at least be in the map so that people can find their way there.
