Are you using smart phone? if so you can install apps to do trek log.

I wonder what apps suitable for track log ? I've try GPS Logger by mendhak and GPS Background Logger by tpr, both can save into *.gpx but can't open in Mapsource

If you are using Smartphone with Android OS, you can download from their Play Store, free apps, MyTracks by Google.
MyTracks can do a 1-sec tracking as well as mark a POI like Restoran, Klinik, etc. You can also geotag a POI with MyTracks.
The 1-Sec Tracklog and POIs can be saved in GPX format and can be read by Mapsource and GPSMapEdit.

I am using OSMTracker for android apps.
The saved track can be convert into gpx format and able to read by mapsource.
but the POI saved cannot be read by mapsource.
