Canopy Walkway
Guidelines for visitors
- The walkway is open everyday from 9.30 am until 2.30 pm. Closed on
Monday and Friday
- Advance booking should be made at visitor Information Centre by
phone (603 62797575) or fax (603 62804619).
- Please inform the guides before hand if you have any health problem
or allergies.
- Safety harnesses are available should visitors require them.
- Do not overcrowd, jump or sway while on the walkway.
- A small charge is levied for the visit :
Rm5 Adults
RM3 Students (Age 13 years onwards)
RM1 Children (Age 7 to 12 years)
Additional charge is levied for guided walks.
The Canopy walkway
Located in Bukit Lagong Forest Reserve, this walkway system was
constructed in 1992 with aid from the German Agency for Technical
Cooperation (GTZ). The walkway system spans about 200m and suspended
between trees about 30m above ground.
The main trees species on which this system is suspended are Chukrasia
tabularis (Surian batu), Intsia palembanica (Melembu), Artocarpus
elasticus (Terap nasi) and Shorea pauciflora (Meranti nemusu).
The walkway system and the platforms are vantage point from which
one experience a panoramic view of the forest. Beside this, the
walkway system functions as a platform for scientific study of canopy
plants and animals.
