I used mapsource and also map generator to download directly to the device. Although i already tick 4 of the selection, i still face the same problem.

When you transfer the map using Mapsource are you absolutely sure you have included polygons maps for Singapore and Johor? When you generate GMAPSUPP.IMG using the installer/generator, you should not tick the first option which is the option to exclude polygons.

When zooming and dragging, the colour appears for a short while then fades immediately. The green part and most of the colour all have except houses and shop which are missing. Please help ne thanks

You mean the polygons appear only for a brief period only?

Can you also try this:

• Where To? > Coordinates > Format > select h ddd.ddddd. Then enter N1.41657 E103.83565.
• Select Map.
• Is there a polygon displayed right in the middle of the map?

Yes, i tried the following steps but theres still no colour in the location that you wanted me to search. When zooming in and out theres some colour shown for a brief period like you said and always not in a proper shape, some of the green part like garden and airport are colourful. not sure if this will help or not, maybe you have already tried. Why don't you delete the old map set and re-install again. If the polygon still got no colour, remove it and try again with an older map version. if the older map version is ok, it means the new map have some problem with the polygon. Not sure if anyone has posted this problem in other threads.

just follow the steps/guide provided by bro dvpro. delete or rename the file in the garmin folder and re-generate a new one, then transfer to your pnd.
