While Your Majesty is asleep we were hard at work discussing map building.... Here are some 'Overheard' discussions to share... :-#

- Very large unedited Tracklogs can lead to Heart Attack!!!... While the Mappers welcome track logs with open arms there is a dark side never told. They are govern by the rules of accuracy. Since we asked for 1 sec track logs everything drawn on the map must meet requirements based on this requirement. The best person to edit the track log is the person tracking the route. If it is "Corrected/Edited" by the said person for points on the track log with "questionable" interpretations it will save value time.

eg. If you have stopped during your tracking expedition and forgot to turn off the Track Log it will form a cluster of tracks around your stop area. The mapper won't know what to draw in and out of this spot... this is just one of the many discussed last night.

- Many POIs submitted are Spot ON the middle of the roads.... Only the contributor knows where it is. Using Mapsource/Mapedit to correctly indicate the location greatly increase productivity of our Mappers.

- Naming road names requires some extra information if 'a road' have a different name after crossing over a certain point. The same applies if it is a flyover or underpass.

- The general request for members is to submit their contributions using Mapsource... BUT, the most Preferred format is using Mapedit..!!! Use Mapedit if you have it... this will make importing the contribution/s a lot less stressful for the Mappers.

   me no Mappers and all these Overheard makes my spine chill... I wonder why these Guys still want to draw MAPS for free.....   BTW... my knowledge in map drawing is zero... so what I heard may not be 100% accurate... Mappers please correct me if I'm wrong... :tq: :prayer:

You are absolutely right bro! We (mappers) don't have to be there and yet you read our mind.

1- Green track and Red track are two diffrence car with GPS tracking on 1sec log.
1st week going up North, the following week coming down South.
Both are running on a convoy on the same day.
So... the cars should be driving front and back.
But the track show here was 5m diffrence in distance.
