Postby konghh_m » Thu Jul 14, 2011 11:46 am

Hi

Been searching the Internet and can't find any useful info on this. Anyone know how to convert Borneo RSO location figures into GPS coordinates?

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I have seen that link but was looking for something that doesn't any money.

My thinking was, Borneo RSO is listed as 1234567988-meter East and 225554555-meter North so how hard could it be to convert it to how many degree East & North? Seems simple to me but unfortunately it's beyond me. I am sure someone with better grabs of mathematic could easily come up with a simple conversion program. Hence my asking.

On the other hand, may be my thinking was simply too simple to grabs the complexity of it all.

Example: 2231376.93, 5260287.97

If this is correct :
Datum for Borneo is Timbalai, Labuan E114.4 N4.175

2231376.93 is 231376.93 meters West From Datum and 260287.97 meters South from datum (don't include first number ie; 2 and 5)

So. 114.4-(2231376.93/111000) = 112.32 deg. for Easting and 4.175-(260387.97/111000) = 1.830063333 deg. for Northing which is located in some where west of Batang Rajang, south of Kanowit. If this place correct? Jpg attached ( Waypoint mark as 200m in yellow box)
