Re: Expressway R&R Stop area Custom POI (updated)
Thank you for the efforts.
Here is how it's looks like in nuvi 755T.
Due to the software limitation, 7x5T cannot display custom icons during navigation and map browsing.

In map browsing mode, Custom POIs icons only appears under 80meters of zoom.

Try the MP3 version first, if it doesn't the WAV one might work. My POI files were designed to work with Nuvis, don't know much about GMXT devices. Maybe you can PM me if you encounter problems.

Yes, some custom icons shows during map browsing such as, 4D. But others, such ass Petronas, Maybank, ... it only shows when I click/tap at the POI.

I think it has something to do with the layering prioritization during the map compiling process, bro Baha. Extra or Custom POIs usually do not show up on the map until you get to the waypoint and get alerted. Otherwise you have to zoom down to the highest magnification setting to see the custom icon.
Just my two sats' worth.

Actually, the custom icons is not my priority, and 7x5T series weakness in displaying higher level detail is already well known. Anyhow, Thanks again

Re: Custom POI download- Expressway R&R Stop areas (Ver 4)
Hi, stratman2
I notice that the 1500meters proximity range is too broad.
Take an example; Gelang Patah (N) - RSA;
If one has also include the TouchNGo Reload custom POI, there will be a mixture of consecutive prompting between RSA and TouchNGo Reload approaching the toll centre.
I run through a simulation, and notice the alert prompting triggered even on the Gelang Patah (S) - RSA on the opposite side.. This maybe due to the proximity range, irregardless of the waypoint placed on either side of the road, that tend to trigger the alert to sound off.
Maybe someone can put a test on navigation instead.
And just a suggestion, instead of putting 1 waypoint with a proximal range, why dun you break up the waypoints into scatter prompting. Eg. the first prompting will sound off in 1 km perimeter (Awareness), followed by 2nd (Ready to slow down to exit left), placed in the 400m perimeter. [These 2 waypoints with 100meters proximity range only].
As Antyong has mention viewtopic.php?p=14521#p14521
In this way, no more alerts being triggered on the opposite side of the road, and the multiply alerts prompting can be resolved.
Attach is an example on what I suggested.

Everyone contribute a bit, eventually we can enjoy and benefit more in our navigation.
