Hi guys ,I'm newbie. could you help me please refer to any topic or link ?
device garmin nuvi 255w
my Map unfo details :
MFM-Garmin 100412 = unchecked
Mfm Poi 100412 = unchecked
Mfm poi 100412 = checked
Malsingmaps Malaysia/singapore/Brunei NT 2009.41 = checked

I don't know much about how to update but I'm pretty sure that the map version is old

ALL your files are O-L-D. The mfm map was released in April 2010, and the msm was in 2009! You can download mfm's latest map here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=8442. If you scroll down from the first post, there're some FAQ's that you might like to know.

Your nuvi device can install 3 maps:
1) MFM latest maps. Name is gmapsupp.img
2) Malsingmaps Malaysia/singapore/Brunei NT 2011.30 latest. Name is gmapprom1.img
3) Garmin City Navigator Sg/My NT 2011.20 latest. Name is gmapprom.img

That 3 maps name is in gps device file name

2-3 maps can download at http://www.garmin.com.sg/mapupdate/

Thanks every one for the information . the first topic confusing a bit ,I have downloaded MFM-Garmin-110822 but don't know what to do in the next step ,even in the topic I don't see it clear

your link was great and easier but after I did all the steps and turned on the GPS and checked the map info ,every thing there was the same and the old version . so I tried to update it again ,there a caption says "Select the version that you would like to update"
but actually there is just one option that's "City Navigator Singapore/Malaysia NT MAP 2011.20" and infront of it ,is unlock button when I press that, it says "The connected device does not qualify for the update"

The website is correct in informing you that your set does not qualify for update. Garmin NavTeq map is a commercial map and new sets only qualify for one update within a 90 days of purchased.

first u must comfirm your nuvi is local set sg/my firmware.

I can update navteq maps every time but your nuvi should be local set for support JV.

1) Don't x2 clicks the install to install the maps. extract the installer.

2) After extract the installer u got many file.

3) Go to mapdata folder to copy the gmapprom to your nuvi device. Delete the old gmapprom first.

4) Go to mapdata-JV folder to copy SgMyNav.jcv to your nuvi device JCV folder. Delete old SgMyNav.JCV first

5) U should create a gmapprom.unl. U should got the unlock id first at the garmin.sg website.

6) the copy and paste the id at notepad, then save as gmapprom.unl

7) copy to the gmapprom.unl to the garmin device same place with gmapprom.img

maybe u cannot download the navteq maps at the garmin.sg website, u can got it at other website go to google search

It takes nearly 3 hours to Install Garmin City Navigator into your GPS.

there are some things confusing me ,now my GPS has 4 map

Mfm Poi 100412
Mfm poi 100412
Malsingmaps Malaysia/singapore/Brunei NT 2011.30

1 - should I delete some files in my device ? because I see two (Mfm Poi 100412) in my map info .
2 - is it possible 2 maps works at the same time ? mine (Mfm poi 100412 and Malsingmaps Malaysia/singapore/Brunei NT 2011.30 ) checked
3 - can I install papago map on nuvi 255w ? I googled didn't get much
