I thinks many user have Garmin Nuvi 1xxx, so I use garmin nuvi 1350 to guide you all to contribute 1 sec tracklogs. Open 1sec tracks at the old garmin nuvi & latest garmin nuvi 2xxx, 3xxx maybe not same. If u all don’t know how to open 1sec tracks, u all can ask here.

What should u do before tracking
1) U should update the latest mfm maps. Maybe untracks place already tracks & already at latest maps. The mfm maps is update every Monday

2) Setting Route to Offroad. Convenien for u when tracking. After tracking remember to setting back to faster time.
Tools – setting – navigation – route preference


3) Show triplog. The blue line lets u knows which line u already go.
Tools – settings – map – trips logs – show
Tools - settings - map - Map View - Track Up


4) before tracking please clear the tripslogs. Clear past time tripslogs.


5)Only tick mfm maps & pois
Tools – setting - map – info

Open 1 sec tracks using nuvi 1350
1) go to view map – touch speed. Refer picture below


2) Then touch & hold at the speed meter for 10sec. U will see the picture at step 3.


3)Choose Diagnostic Logging


4) press Start Record


5) Now Nuvi device already start 1sec tracks record. If complete tracks, push stop button.


6) If u find another untracks road, u start active 1 sec tracks record again. Step 1 to Step 5

Guide to Viewing 1-sec tracklogs in MapSource

1) First U should setting your computer folder option. Show hidden folder & Don’t tick Hide protect operating system file. Refer picture below


2) use usb cable to connect your nuvi to pc.

3) 1 sec tracklogs is save at Log folder
Nuvi drive x : \.System\Logs




4) Create a folder name tracks at your computer desktops. Then copy all folder inside Log folder to your desktop tracks folder.


5) Open wNutrack software to convert the tracklog to .gpx format.
Input = where is your tracklogs location
Output = where u want to save the convert file
(direct drag the folder to the input/output)


6) Open mapsource, then drag the convert .gpx file to mapsource


7) If u want add some tracklog at same mapsource,
i) open tracklog at another mapsource
ii)cut/copy the tracklog to that mapsource contain tracklog.
For nearly tracklog only. If another tracklog is far away better save at new gdb file.


8) right click the tracklog - show selected track on maps. U will see the tracklog. Then save .gdb file.

Contributing POIs using MapSource

1) Use usb cable connect your nuvi with computer

2) Open mapsource program

3) goto Transfer – receive from devide


4) tick waypoint only, then click receive. Then save the document .gdb


5) Cut the waypoint to your mapsource contain tracklog. This waypoint maybe is road name u save.

Road name can use flat icon, restoran use restoran icon, bank use bank icon. U can choose yourself



6) After that u can contribute your complete tracklog at xxx.gdb to mfm. Post according to the area : Pahang, KL & Selangor , Perak

Certain important info should be marked when contributing tracklogs:

1. Offset road. (Sometimes tracklog will offset to two roads, please mark as 1 road only)
2. Some road is very close to another road. Please mark it is 2 road
3. Some time u save pois it will offset left/right. Please edit it to left/right to correct position.
4. Start 1sec tracks before 50m that place u want tracking & stop 1 sec tracks 50m after complete tracks.
5. Print Screen & paste it to MS Paint then draw your tracks. Let mapper refer your picture to draw the maps.
6. Mark 1 way road.

How to install mapsource

1) Don’t direct install mapsource
2) use winzip or winrar extract the installer.
3) U will get many file.
4) x2 click MSmain
5)x2 Setup

Intall Mfm maps to mapsource

1) download latest mfm maps installer. mfm-garmin-yymmdd

2) x2 to install


3) choose English – Ok


4) Next


5) Choose I accept – next


6) choose Next


7) Choose full Customisation – Next


8) Click install


9) click yes


10) Refer setting below


11) click yes


12) click no


13) click ok


14) Click finish


15) open mapsource, then choose mfm maps


16) finish

Extra Info if u put mfm maps at your nuvi device.
copy gmapsupp.img to your garmin device.
gmapsupp.img is at your computer drive c:/Garmin/Malfreemaps/

change setting at
step 7 = custom polygon & pois
step 10 = above is for old nuvi device
below is for garmin nuvi 1xxx & 765

Nuvi 2x5 & nuvi 7x5 1 sec tracklog

1) touch at view maps


2) touch at vehicle icon


3) touch the red square area by step 1 to 4 slowly


4) press start recording


5) now u are start record 1 sec tracks. If want to stop record , only touch stop at screen.


Nuvi 255w tracklog is save at garmin device x:\debug\






Almost device open 1 sec tracks is tap & hold at speedmeter for 10second.
