Hi guys, a few of my friends and i are planning a mountain climb trip this November in KL area, i need some recommendation of which is the best for us to do it....
As you all must know that we are a group of 40 to 60 years old people who had reaches their mid life crises and most are probably having beer belly and kneel pain problem... , so the recommendation of the place should not be too tedious and if there are rest point will be better...
We intend to start off the climb early in the morning and probably end and back to starting point by noon time.
So, guys, any recommendation...
Thanks.

Sorry Bro, I cannot help you for KL but if your group comes to Penang, you can do exactly as you mentioned by hiking the Jeep Track up to Penang Hill. I may even volunteer to be your guide.singawon wrote:Hi guys, a few of my friends and i are planning a mountain climb trip this November in KL area, i need some recommendation of which is the best for us to do it....

Thats fine Bro Singawon,
Just tell your group that by next year I shall be 65 and your group will definitely be younger so no problem to do if I can.

Fraser Hill will be easy enough. Park your car at the gap and take a nice easy walk up. You can stop midway for a dip in the waterfalls if necessary.
Take the original route going up. It is much nicer and gradual.
If the route down is too challenging, get someone to drive up your support car.
BTW , I once had a 68 senior cycling up this hill with us and beat us to the top... so your age do not count! Experience and endurance matters.

Gunung Bunga Buah, 1430 m, Genting Highlands.
I did a research to scale this but aborted for statistical reasons. The peak is 1430 meter, but the trail don't start at 0 m :-))), It's a morning to noon to and fro trip but many people opt to spend the nite for a view of Genting. Phone coverage is available and the trail is even on GPS (Papago & Garmin).
Some links I perused while preparing for the trip. Planning to complete it this December.

Bro Singawon,
Try Bukit Saga - Ah Pek San circuit. My friend and I did it on 31 Aug 2012. Our tracklog can be viewed here:-
http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1747123
We are doing this again next Monday, 17 Sep 2012. Starting off at 8:00am from Bkt Saga side (N3.11328 E101.77391) but this time we will check out subsidiary trails and hopefully be able to map them out. If you are interested, perhaps you can join us.
However, if after looking at the tracklog (check the elevation profile for the 1st 1 hour of the hike - it's very steep & challenging), you think it's not your cup of tea, you can try the Ah Pek San trail which is gentler. Our tracklog for this gentler trail can be viewed here:-
http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=1428695
Have fun.
ps. Note that this place is not a mountain but a series of hills.
