Thats is really an outstanding work!!

How did you retained the transparency when converted it back to the srf format. If you using photoshop, do you have any issues with alpha channel? Was your original image based on 32 bit or 24 bit?

Since most of the time, we only see the vehicle's rear, why is then Garmin using 36 images for a 3D image? I have tried to use selected images and convert back to srf but Garmin cannot read, did I do something wrong?

Sorry for the late reply, just came back from Genting Highlands using my MFM-Mclaren GPS to lead the way. :D

Use Gimp :)

After working in photoshop, save as psd, afterwards open with Gimp and save as PNG.

As for using 36 images for 3D image, I'm not sure.. maybe for preview only? It's my first Garmin vehicle so I can't really answer. It's not easy to align them properly so it doesn't jerk in preview mode though.

I'll try to work on more vehicles, I'm now working on my portfolio to look for a job so it might take a while. :(

The vehicle icon are *.srf format.
And they will have to be placed into your nuvi internal memory named 'Garmin', create another folder named as 'vehicle'.
Now copy your *.srf files into this folder (-vehicle).
And try to see if you can select a different vehicle under the Map settings.
Everyone contribute a bit, eventually we can enjoy and benefit more in our navigation.
