Tester Assignment: max display limit for road name

Postby antyong (retired) » Sat Oct 04, 2008 2:43 am

Dear testers,

Please find out if your device has any maximum display limit for road names:
- during address search
- during navigation mode

For initial test, use "P. Ramlee (Caunterhall Rd), J" at N5.40902 E100.31367. Search and route to this road. Check if the entire road name can be displayed both during searching and navigation.

If you find a longer road name, post the name here

There is a road name longer than "P. Ramlee (Caunterhall Rd), J" (29 characters), which is “P210 Stesen Bkt Bendera (Hill Railway Rd), J” (44 characters). I used this road name for the test on my 6110N + Symbian MXT v5.00.00s60.9.

The test result is as follows:
1) Max display limit during Address Search = 29 characters
3) Max display limit during navigation mode :
a) Without turning indicator = at least 41 characters. Full road name displayed except for “, J”.
b) With turning indicator = 36 characters.

Screenshots for Vista HCx. Looks like the road name is truncated at 23 characters.
