Penang Junction Lane Assist Data Collection - JCLA

Postby moeyhc » Tue May 12, 2009 11:52 am

Dear All,

This thread is dedicated to Junction Lane Assist Data submission for Penang. You are required to send your data only in *.gdb format for compilation by Bro edchuang.

Note:- To comply with Bro antyong request for data confidentiality we shall submit all data using PM. Please submit your *.gdb to my PM. I'll post your submitted locations here for you to verify that it is correct. No JCLA (Junction Lane Assist) data will be posted in the open. #-o

Important:- Before you start to collect the JCLA data please download the file Penang-Island_JCLA_AreaDone-x.gdb below to see the JCLA already done. All Junctions indicated in the Penang-Island_JCLA_AreaDone-1.gdb Routes are done and submitted to MfM.
Penang-Island_JCLA_AreaDone-1.gdb

Please follow the example below when posting.
JCLA_Waypoint_Properties_Example.JPG

- Name your Waypoints sequentially makes it easier for compilation.
- Using Symbol for your Waypoints makes it easier to sort the data. Tip: Use the same Symbol for the same road.
- Enter your Junction Turn Data in the Comment field

Format for Junction Lane Data - Comment
eg:- As shown above 1L2C1R/U
More example HERE

- 1L = 1 Lane Left Exit or Turn
- 2C = 2 Lane Center (normally straight road ahead)
- 1R/U = 1 Lane Right Turn or Exit with / U Turn allowed

1L2C1RU.JPG

If you have any question/s please feel free to post here. There are no hard and fast rules on submission and you can submit your data even if the Junction is already done. We can make use of these data to verify the accuracy of the previous entry. If you have a better or 'extra' info for the Comment entry do let us know.

Your help on this interesting project is very much appreciated... Thank you from the JCLA team.... Cheers! :tq:

Bro tlchuan,

Inside Penang-Island_JCLA_AreaDone-1.gdb there are Routes. All the Junctions along the routes are already mapped and submitted to Bro edchuang for compilation. So, collect the JCLA from other Roads/Areas. Hope this is clear.... Cheers!

The Lane Assist data for junctions along the Routes are already submitted to MfM. . So, you need not submit them any more. Hope this is clear now... cheers... thanks for the feedback.

Could you post any diagramm/layout as an example on how to interpret above data format?

Thanks

This is a 1 Left turn, 2 Straight Thru (C) & 1 Right turn with U Turn on the same lane junction.

Thanks for your answer, bro moeyhc.

So for the modified picture below. It is 1L/C2C1R/U. Am I right?
