so meaning my 7 cent is used ONLY to lock the signal from the server and that is once per location that i've been keyed in my phone where i want to go.. (including when it recalculating once again etc, etc...). And then when u wanna go to the other place n u have to enter the name, Maxis will search for it , and another 7 cent will be deducted... am i correct?
No, it happens ONCE per usage. And you can use this 'lock' to many destinations provided you do not turn off the program.

so, about the performance.. it will be less effective to off the AGPS rather than switch it on.. the data will transmit slower.. and the loading will be slower, and the possibility of lagging to occur would be much frequent.. am i right?
With AGPS, you can get satelite lock faster. It has nothing to do with data rate or lagging.

The 5800 impressed me ... here are some of the comparison.

- 5800 lock the satelite faster ...thanks to AGPS.
- Nuvi 205w announced each turn about half a second faster than 5800
- There is no map lag on both Nuvi and 5800
- 5800 POI search is a lot better than Nuvi, as it has more POI categories
- Nuvi 205w has eco route ... it can navigate based on lowest milage (but 5800 dont have this function)

But my biggest drawback to 5800 is that if i enable "auto recalculation" - the navigation will go crazy ... so i have to turn it off, and manually invoke it as and when needed. Can anyone help me with this ... if this is fix, I will give my Nuvi to my wife and use the 5800 as my primary GPS.

Anyway, i'm using GMXT 5.00.40 .

I am using this version also on my 5800, only issue is the during search for address and it hangs when try to insert Symbols.
u face this problem?
Can our 5800 use the latest MFM1.61? is it a jump from 1.55 to 1.61? and is there a newer version of GMXT?
Thanks alot!

Try using the latest MFM v1.61 Lite version.

If it does not resolve the problem, unfortunately I cannot offer any further advice, not a user of GMXT S60 myself. But I'm sure users of GMXT S60 will respond to this topic soon.

Hmm... Let me guess... Are you using Nokia 5800 XpressMusic???

Maybe you would like to try updating the software to v5.00.50...
