MFM Papago map feedback

Postby bUGG » Wed Jun 17, 2009 3:14 am

I just baught one Papago Z-880 from the one and only Papago Malaysia Dealer as stated at mypapago.com
Download the latest 090616 map, I am facing a lot issue with the navigation. Below are just a few of it.

1. From The Curve back to Klang using LDP Puchong. I am at the red color track, very weired navigation, ask me to U-turn. refer to Pic. 1 and have no idea where it lead to.
2. From Bukit Raja Klang take NKVE and Exit at 106 Damansara, along the way, whenever there is exit, eg. Shah Alam, Elite & Subang exit, it will announce "Stay in the left lane" road still show go straight. Is very confusing. Just like what willamreg posted at viewtopic.php?p=45856#p45856

Papago calculation of routes is very much different from Garmin. I still prefer the way Garmin calculate routes. Some area are ok, but most of the time, Papago route guide is really HILARIOUS!!!

Bro,

1. I will test further and fix the routing if I can.

2. Please check your software version. Go to Advance->Navi Info->About. The about page should read: 0520N, 001.0.0001: 2009/04/21. If you still have this problem, please ask the dealer for a software update.

Noticed that smaller road seem has higher priority in routing calculation. This is happen when on my trip to Kluang, the GPS using country lanes (kampung road) instead of the major road routes. SLA Map seem does not has this problem :-?

Attached please find the SLA Map vs MFM Map routing form Northpoint Shopping Centre (Singapore) to Tampines Mall (Singapore).

Understand that Papago MFM map project is still a lot of work to do, but I see the project is getting better and better in every release, hope this feedback does help to improve the future Papago MFM map.

:good:

i am Papago Z-820 user and downloaded MFM Papago 090616 for Z-820. i found that road searching so far so good  POI search category looks like a bit mixed up and not categorized properly. Not entirely mixed and only a bit mixed up like Maybank goes into Restaurant :ko: but not major problem as i can still search using All POI   final word is... MFM is free and way more accurate than the original bundled Z-820 map. Happy user i am now

THANK YOU MFM

If you have error with voice guidance on expressways (green roads), you are not having the latest software. I am positive about it - I reported the error and got the fix :)

There will be routing improvement in the next release. Appreciate your continuous feedback to improve the map even further. :prayer:

Ok... I will wait for the next release.

About the custom poi icon... I can see shell, esso, mobil, bhp icon... but most of the icon is not there, 7-11 & Speedmart shown as "24H", some banks show "$".

Another feedback, if just go straight ahead and not taking the exit, the voice announce should use 'go straight' instead of 'stay in the left lane' or 'stay in the right lane'. The voice announces needs to be much clearer to avoid driver change to left or right lane unnecessary. SLA map is using 'go straight', I think the voice announce for SLA Map is much better. Could this be shared by SLA Map team? :-k

Feedback: Papago took me to a wrong location after I purposely ignored it's directions more than 3 times. After several recalculations it took me to a somewhere remote destination. :ko:

Ok. This what happened. I wanted to go to Blk388 Yishun Ring Rd. from Eunos. I ignored the first turn direction to CTE and went on straight. It recalculates. Ignored the second time to turn to Upper Thomson Rd. and went straight and headed straight to Stevens Rd. Finally made a U-turn at Bukit Timah Rd. and headed back the opposite direction. Again Ignored for the 3rd time to turn to Upper Thomson Rd. and finally took the CTE after the 3rd recalculation. From here I followed its directions faithfully and it took me to Old Upper Thomson Rd and then into the Pierce Reservoir Rd to the dead end and said "You have reached your destination. :ko: :fire:
I drove out to Old Thomson Rd keyed in the same destination (Blk388) and even switched map to mfm map.
And it took me again to the same spot :fire: :x
Then Finally I did a hard reset, and finally keyed in my destination and it tfinally took me to Blk 388 Yishun Ring Rd. :frus:
Can't explain what had happen. Is it because I ignored its "orders for 3 times" and it dished out this punishment? :x
