2km/h speed alert

Postby wwloon » Mon Jun 15, 2009 11:05 am

Hi brothers,

I am using MFM 1.61 and most of the items in the Custom POI package... and I encountered this 2km/h speed alert at various locations over the weekend.

Any idea what triggered this alert?

Maybe the POI or GPI names have the string "@2" within it's name.

Hi Bro Dvpro,

A "@" character in a GPI file name should not affect the properties of POI alerts. However, the symbol in an individual waypoint will alter the speed threshold. I can vouch that I have no speed limit waypoints with anything lower than 50 km/h.

I'll have to investigate by downloading the cPOI installer and extract the data from the various cPOIs.
cheers,

Yes, you are correct, I meant to say GPX file before it's uploaded via POI Loader (especially when using express mode). Thanks for the correction.

Bro dvpro,

I think I know what's causing this strange 2km/h speed alert. It's the Night Market cPOI. If you remove it from the POI folder, the strange speed alert will disappear.

I'm not sure how bro Pkgent generated the GPI file, but in the process, proximity and speed threshold parameters were added to his GPI files, even though he never intended so. Case closed!
cheers,

:good: on finding the source of the fault. After testing PGKent's GPX source file, I concluded that apparently latest version of POI Loader will read any first number in GPX filename (even without @ prefix) as the speed limit info, ie. Night Market POI V2_03.gpx will set all POIs within, with a speed limit of 2km/h. The workaround is to choose manual mode in POI Loader, and disable proximity alert option at the next page. I'll PM PGKent and notify him of the issue.
