Actually you not need to change to 2.50 TWN, what you need is to 'downgrade' from v3.40 to other lower version. See the last message from ZergZak in page 11
http://www.gpspassion.com/forumsen/topi ... ichpage=11

If you want to change to v2.50 TWN, there is howto easternize your 7x5 in this thread. Find it.. :)

Ok, eventhough there are a 'SAD' moments with 7x5 US/EU, I also stumbled new easter egg(s), also at gpspassion.

At satellite screen, tap at Elevation for 5 or more seconds. You will get a GPS SNR Logging page. and you can check how fast the gps can lock to satellite and the strenght readings.

Also, I also found the GPS Jammer Test by tap and pressing Speed for more than 5 seconds. I don't know what is this for.. but, good to see something new in my GPS.

Good Luck

Good news. There is a software update v3.60 to resolve the problem. Good luck :) Please do update ASAP, using webupdater, if your Western 7x5 still alive :).

I pass this one for the better v2.50 TWN :)..

Symptom? Muntah-muntah, loya-loya ? :) heh he heh ... Simptom camna tu?

I tried the GPS SNR logging yesterday, and my nuvi 'seem' to be running fine. I just checked the latest TWN sw/fw, and it is still v2.50 ., and no new development in their blog.

Anyway, good luck. At least several of us here, are lucky enough getting through the issues/mess.

Symptoms - After switched on the unit and got satellite locked, it keeps on updating and "Update complete" message appears... then lost satellite signal. Switching off and on again will not get the signal back... did few reset (erasing data) and temporarily solved it but it keeps on coming back.

I tried to revert back to US version, hoping to update the firmware to the latest one (3.60) later, by copying the original Gupdate.gcd back to the garmin folder but it remains 2.50 TWN even after unit reset :ko: ... any advice? Thanks!
