Any luck with my 765US360 rgn?
Wierd, mine still running fine until today.... I also did the Webupdater this morning, and still fine... How about try to webupdater even with 2.50TWN.

By the way, after updating, please do master reset, by, while pressing bottom right, switch on the GPS and wait until a dialog appears. Click yes, and pray :) After that try to update via webupdater.

Good luck my friends.

Regretfully not la bro...
(1) at the diagnostics screen: connected the unit to PC via USB --> no new hardware detected for driver installation
(2) Running the updater and clicked OK --> "No updates are available for your products".

Relax...
Now do this. Example, you have extracted the files in the c:\garmin
At cmd
c:> cd \garmin
c:> updater.exe 087001000360.rgn

I think it should do the trick..
Once more again... good luck :)

Or ... download the 360 gcd from the previous page.
Connect your nuvi, and let's it in storage mode.
Drag the gcd file to the webupdater icon.

Hmmm luck was not so good la bro, results:

1) Your first trick:
Can run it using that command prompt, but produced the same result > no updates available...

2) Second one:
100% updated... but no SW loading, apparently the webupdater basically parked the Gupdate.gcd there in Garmin folder (as if manually transferred to the folder).

Emmmm any more tricks aaa [-o<

Ha ha ha ha ha ... I GOT IT :) !!! ?
1) RENAME the 0870...rgn file to any filename. example 765US360.rgn
2) Same method as above...
c:> updater 765US360.rgn
3) Pray again :)

Also effective when to update to my 'PouchX' less rgn 250 TWN.

After the updating you may see "Missing System Software". Jangan Takut... Slide to OFF position for 7 seconds, to reset it. and PRAY some more.

Good Luck.

Briefly installed the 3.60 US, after boot up, you may see
1) Free MSN Direct Trial, screen
2) If you mute the sound, the NO lips/voice icon will appears next to the satellite bar.
3) No compass
So, no US sw for my nuvi :)... 250TWN still the best for me :)

Yehaaa! It works this time...! What I did was:
1) Follow your above trick, need to quickly take out USB and reset the unit when seeing that "Missing System Software", otherwise it will revert back to that 2.50.
2) By doing so, got back to US3.60 BUT... because of the less-pouchX version of 2.50TWN earlier, I cant simply drop any GUPDATE.gcd to the garmin folder (for future update or even older one), the system simply doesn't recognize because of the "Missing System Software" earlier. So the way out is to go back to PouchX 2.50TWN, just run the updater.exe and follow the instruction... then got back to PouchX 2.50TWN.
3) Copy back the v3.60 GUPDATE.gcd to the garmin folder... unplug the USB, it will automatically update it back to US3.60 version PouchX-less.
4) From here onwards, I can always change back to PouchX 2.60TWN or go back to any update by throwing GUPDATE.gcd into Garmin folder.

Long and short of it somehow, thanks so much bro Bahathir for your great help!!

This is very risky!!!

My old unit (205W) got bricked already because of unpluging USB after "System Software Missing" shown.

I've faced this problem also. After flash bahathir's less-PouchX 2.50 TWN, the unit shows "System Software Missing" but i'm very fine for original PouchX. Bahathir still don't know why.

1) Make sure no gupdate.gcd is exist in garmin_drive:\Garmin directory.

There are 2 parts in the nuvi's sw, the boot loader and body/data
What happens is, the updater.exe will force write the bootloader to your nuvi's flash. and next, it will put the body/data in the nuvi's temporapry storage, (I think). After the nuvi boot's the new boot loader, it will READ the gupdate.gcd first, and if it not the same version with the bootloader, it will complaint the missing system software. Actually no problem the the PouchX, but, it seem to be 'tainted' :) and the ROM checking will failed at Diagnostics page..

So, I made my own 7x5TWN250 software to resolve those 2 tiny problem, without tainting any part of the software. Performance wise, both are the same.

During the process, I encountered countless "System Software Missing", but can simply undone it. So,thanks to GOD, I might be lucky this moment.

Very complicated. I think it should be most likely to BIOS in PC which has just the ROM itself. No body\data storage.

So...what next. How do I make bahathir's 2.50 TWN useable in my unit? Please recommend...
