1st, They dont provide any TOOL![]()
Basically you use notepad to save their code to a .unl file(not text file), then place the .unl file together with the .img file
2nd, the original Europe map can be downloaded any time, a latest copy whenever you need. It does not affect your GPS function without it.
If it is preloaded, then it is gone forever
Yes, you can re-load it anytime but you must have the original mapsource install disk + unlock codes
Bro mfm88, let this be a lesson, unless you had made a backup, it is impossible to get you Nuvi back to the state as you want it. You can do a hard-reset but this will get it back to factory conditions. One thing to note, hard-reset will not get back your pre-loaded maps as this is separate item from firmware
As for your unlock message, from what you had described, the MFM 1.63 gmapsupp, img file was somehow NOT loaded into your Nuvi, just the support files. Meaning your Euro map gmapsupp, img is still residual in your Nuvi. However when you entered the MFM1.63 gmapsupp.unl unlock code, it over-rode the original unlock code file for your Euro map, thus this is why your unit prompts you the error message "unable to unlock map". Unless you had backup the Euro map and unlock code, the file gmapsupp.,img ( euro map ) is usless.
Download our latest map MFM .164 installer and install it in mapsource. Use mapsource to create a gmapsupp, img and transfer this into your unit. Your unit should then have a functional Mal - Sin map.
