I have multiple maps in my Nuvi, namely MFM / MSM / Garmin NT Taiwan / Garmin NT China / Garmin NT Mal-Sin. All except MSM resides in Main Memory. MSM resides in SD card. All except the Taiwan can be select / unselect. Maps as GMAPOEM cannot be select / unselect

MFM as Gmapsupp + UNL
Taiwan as GMAPOEM + UNL
China as GMAPPROM + UNL
NT Sin-Mal as GMAPPROM1 + UNL
BaseMap as GMAPBMAP
MSM as Gmapsupp ( SD Card )

May I know how did you do that? Did you combine all maps into a single gmappsupp.img, or each map has their own file?

Files are in individual names as listed + a set of indivivual Unlock "UNL" files paired to respective map files

I used this map on my GMXT (WM version) and the postal code search does not work - per the manual. I also tried searching via POI method but does not work; can't find the postal code (529233) that I was looking for, although some other postal codes seem to be present.

Bro jchoong,

I'm able to search 529233 in Singapore SLA address map.

You will have to follow thru
1) Go "Where To"
2) Select "Addresses"
3) Search "Country"; type in "Singapore" select Singapore Sla Address/Postcode
4) Under Spell City, select "Search All"
5) Skip House Number, by pushing on "Next"
6) Enter Street Name, here's a TIP
  • i) You can enter exact house address, like 21 Tampines Street 34
    or
  • ii) You can simply enter the exact post code, 529233.

Bingo!

Edgar,

Step 3 - the select Singapore SLA Address/Postcode - is not available on my GMXT WM5.00.20W. Are you using GMXT for S60? Thanks.

Bro jchoong,

3) Search "Country"; "" Please key in Singapore" not be lazy"" then select Singapore Sla Address/Postcode

Before you press GO, try to BACK out the menu. Did your GMXT (WM) crash? Mine crashed with many beeps and this error is repeatable on my unit.
GMXT error msg:
"ERROR: Assert failed at fnd_srcher_roads.c : 2362 in Garmin Mobile XT with error 0"

Yes, got it, that's the trick. Many thanks. Strange that we have to go thru these unnecessary and non-intuitive steps though.

When I go to Address Search, the menu shows 2 options "Singapore" and "Spell Country". Thus I just select "Singapore" but of course this does not work. I have to select "Spell Country" and then start to input...S..I..N.. and then 2 options drop down - "Singapore" and "Singapore Sla Address/Poi".

Maybe it is just the WM version of GMXT!

 Bro jchoong,

Actually I cut down my instruction.. We are using the same format.. And yes, we have to select correct mapset, For both of them share the same first word "SIN".
