Just registered myself with the group today. Haven't got any GPS unit yet but intending to buy one soonest as will be traveling all over Malaysia (incl East M'sia & Labuan) in the near future.... that's why lah have to do research here first

So far have not use any GPS locally yet as I can still rely very much on reading maps to get me to new places. But about 10 years back when I was attached with a Japanese company I used my in-car GPS unit a lot while driving around that country.

My background is as a 3d animator & videographer. Used to do a lot of 3d animation combining landsat images, weather satellite & 3d building block for local tv stations' broadcasting last time. Still have all the satellite files & mountain high maps files with me. Hope I can contribute something to this community based on my experience & database that I've gathered all these years.

But before that have to start the very basic in learning all about GPS & all lah. For a start what are the best options I have for a budget of about RM1000?

Keep up the good work you all =D>
