I am testing bro fancheng's Nuvi 255W. One big drawback is that it doesn't like our POI customisation. Although it displays my custom icons, it display also the original icons, causing icon overlaps.

255W 4.jpg

I was thinking that my mapsource has some error, then I use my n200 to test it, everything download just like bullet being shot out by gun, there is no jam in the mid of firing...!

So here is the step that I have done and tried!

Mapsource - no issued with it
Update USB Drivers - Install it and try again result - Failed
Use Webupdater - Found no firmware updated cannot proceed to update
Update Firmware from Taiwan website - Updated and result still - Failed

So end up :ko:

What else that I have missed! can some enlighten me!

Cheers!

Had the following experience

Able to upload waypoints created in MapSource into the nuvi but could not download them as in you case.

It appears his .gpx in the nuvi has been corrupted and nothing can be done.

Solution, delete the .gpx from PC and upload from MapSource from back ups.

Workable solution Alfred. Thanks!

Delete from PC all the GPX, upload back from Mapsource and workable, luckily I did backup previously my personal POI.

I don't know my track log retrievable when I go and track out again. I will test it out and let you all know the result of this action.

Thanks guys!

I have heard that the US version 255's are the only ones that has TTS with road name, but a vendor here says even the Taiwan version has TTS, anyone can confirm this?

So, does anyone here support the use of the 255 with all the above feedback?
