Hi, I am being honest, following the guide given earlier, I copied the latest map - GMAPSUPP.IMG into the hardware directory \Garmin . Upon restarting after the transfer, the unit hangs at the Loading Map page.

I tried performing the hardware reset (Formating the unit), unit can not get pass the loading map section. Now I cannot even connect to the PC.

Thanks for the advise. Already tried - no results. I actually copied the map onto the Garmin GPS unit. Can advise. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Looks like the maps in Nuvi/data card are corrupted. You need to copy a working GMAPSUPP.IMG in \Garmin folder of data card and insert into Nuvi. Then connect to PC, it should be detected as usual. Browse to \Garmin folder of Nuvi (internal) and remove (or back it up somewhere else) all IMG files. This should clear all corrupted maps and Nuvi should be able to boot up with or without data card inserted.

Tried copying the whole garmin to the memory stick, hardware still hand at the loading map screen.....any more ideas what I can try?

Which files did you copy to data card? Try placing just this file (GMAPSUPP.IMG) in \Garmin folder of data card: http://cli.gs/mfm-garmin091130lite

Also make sure it is not named as GMAPSUPP.IMG.IMG, if you do not see the extension, do not add the IMG extension, it's already there only hidden.

I copied only the GMAPSUPP.IMG in the \garmin folder of the memory stick. still cannot start.BTW, what is this file http://cli.gs/mfm-garmin091130lite ??

I totally cannot access the GPS unit and the memory stick, I can only access the memory stick via a card reader....

Just to be sure you're using a non-corrupted GMAPSUPP.IMG, you can download GMAPSUPP.IMG for MFM091130 from that link.

BTW, there is another method to resolve corrupted map issue in Nuvi, that is by flashing to a firmware that has disabled the software from looking for IMG files when booting up. Anyway, you should try the above first before proceeding with the alternative.
