yes u can.
tools->settings->map->vehicle.
if u want to add more vehicles, put them in garmin\vehicle folder
from Garmin Que for Pocket PC to Garmin Mobile XT for Windows Mobile to Nuvi 205W to Papago M9 for Android & now Garmin Nuvi 2576.

yes if you're using gmxt (smartphone, pda), sd card/garmin/vehicle folder
before=user, now=contributor, future=c2bc (continue to be contributor)

If I just copy vehicle srf files into the Garmin folder that contain other srf files, will it work? [-o<

I mean srf's taken from site like this:
