Garmin Mobile XT Software Problems

Installed it last night and tested it this morning. What I like:

- the car icon, quite nice compared to the boring black triangle.
- better display, including left/right/exit turn signs on top left of display.
- speed camera and red light camera alert is on a small box so it doesn't cover the navigation information on top.

Garmin just release V5.00.00 for Symbian S60 3rd Edition OS phones.

After extraction you still need to manually install the .sis file. Use your built-in file manager or phone browser such as X-plore or FExplorer.
Location of .sis file is here: (SD card)\GarminMobileXT.SIS

Becareful, if you uninstall previous version it will leaves GarminMobileXT.SIS in
(SD card)\Garmin\Apps\Symbian\res\. This installer is for previous version (v4.xx).

I upgraded to this V5.00.10W on my HTC and noticed the very nice user interface - similar to the Nuvis.

Huhu... very similar to Nuvi's interface. Don't have to buy Nuvi... as long as my Axim x51v still alive and kicking.

Tried navigating from Section 20 Shah Alam to Jaya Jusco Bukit Raja Klang. Same route chosen compared to previous version. Further testing this Friday (balik kampung time)

Performance wise - feels a bit faster (not that scientific, gut feeling only).

great to see so many updates to the software. esp love the online features...flight info (no idea how accurate it is), panoramic photos etc

Ouch... first crash on my x51v. After a few recalculate... navigating from Klang to Section 15 Shah Alam. Didn't follow route suggestion, on purpose...

only works with Garmin 10x.

first time ever xt shutdown with warning system was low on resources. it was in the middle of a route & my daughter was playing around with changing car icon when it happened.
