just want to share because this is 1st time using non garmin product. i bought from m3gps a new wayway 4331i with x5 se. look nice with slim design. i have tested in simulation mode. i found that no voice direction to turn left or right in some area. FYI i set the voice to Malay (Female) and installed with the latest papago map 100415. is it software problem or maps?

i test start from MB' residence to Taiping Zoo. no voice guidance near every junction.

thank for feedback me.

Try using Malay (Male), i believe there is some missing voice files in Malay (Female)...
:tq:

maybe you get not complete files.. from kedai (i've found some different files in some different gps)

anyway, you can copied from the standard english and modified by your self..
papago using standard wav files, record it with 22khz 8 or 16 bit mono.
then you got your own speech guidance

Wayway Q4331i - V-kool. Satellite lock/fix problem

Postby frez » Tue Aug 17, 2010 10:50 pm

Hi, do you guys have a problem with getting the Q4331i locked/fixed on the satellites? I suspect it is the V-kool tinting which is causing the problem. However I didn't have any problems with my old faithful Garmin 205. I did a comparison, the Garmin 205 average time to lock is about 2 minutes but the Q4331i may take more than 10 minutes. Can I 'boost' the receiver power to overcome this problem?

Thanks.

If don't want to cut your precious V-Kool, then invest in a re-rad antenna :-'

If it is the V-kool tinting, your N205 would also be affected.

The N205 has hotfix so it is able to get it's initial fix much faster. My N200 which did not have hotfix took quite a while to get it's first fix.

Maybe you can do an experiment by testing both sets outside the car.

Spot on yoladu. http://gpstekreviews.com/2008/08/26/gar ... art-times/
They are relatively similar outside.

Now why Wayway didn't include hotfix with the latest SiRF Atlas IV with superfast speeds of 500MHZ? Don't think hotfix is a patented Garmin feature.

Does the other Wayway/Papago models have hotfix because I like the Papago interface compared to boring Garmin - consider to change to other models if they are better or as good as Garmin.

Now considering [WTS] 2 weeks old Q4331i with 2 years warranty? (Provided the other Wayway/Papago is as strong as the Garmin lah). :)
