Re: Question on Garmin Mobile XT features...
It's possible to set the category in GMXT, select Tools > Manage My Data > My Locations > select a POI > Change Categories > if not yet available, select Manage > Add Category.
However as I've stated earlier, it does nothing to categorize the POI when searching.

dvpro wrote:Yes it's possible to categorize My Locations items, however it's only useful when managing the data, where you can filter by category, etc. As such there is no usefulness beyond that, ie. when searching for My Locations items (even if they've been categorized, the list is just shown without categories).

Re: Question on Garmin Mobile XT features...

You're welcome.
When you are managing My Locations list, you may filter it (narrow it down) by Name, Category or Symbol.

Re: Question on Garmin Mobile XT features..
Yeah, have tried every possible means, including installing gpsmoddriver, I even paired it up with external BT gps receiver, but the outcome is still the same, gps lag on the map in Garmin Mobile XT.
So far, Mapking is the most accurate of all in term of gps position on map, if not because of its lousy user interface and poor graphics, it would be the best!!!
I have used PapagoX3 for a few days and I discovered that sometimes it is not able to detect that the car has turned into highway exit and it has to recalculate the route, why? Anyone experiencing the same thing?

I have tried out Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20 on Omnia II and it suffers from GPS lag and you will end up missing turns.
Have done a lot of researches on the web and it seems that that is the known problem with no solution.
I have also tired out PapagoX3 and Mapking 2007 on my Omnia II, and I must say that both are quite ok with no lag at all, especially Mapking 2007. However, in term of user interface, Mapking 2007 is a not as good as Garmin or PapagoX3.
Overall, I think PapagoX3 is the best of all on Win Mobile 6.5 platform.
BR,
guanbee
Try to update your Garmin Mobile XT (GMXT) version & use MFM Lite Version map to reduce lagging.. Download lite version map from bro Litespeed links.

Maybe you should try setting the Map Orientation to Track Up, instead of 3D.

Yeah, will give it a try, thanks ...
BTW, why is it that only Garmin Mobile XT suffers from gps lag but both Mapking2007 and PapagoX3 are ok, especially Mapking2007, which is the most accurate of all in its gps position on map?
I have done a lot of researches on the internet and it seems that the problem has been around for quite some time with no fix whatsoever from Garmin.

Re: Features on Garmin online (GMXT) is Gone?
tresca wrote:Yup, u r rite. When u use the feature to online, the other feature will gone and left Weather and Subscription status.
So far as i know the only way to enable it back is, reinstall.
thats easy. 1 question
Did u purchase the GMXT or u just take it from a blogger "u know who"?
Because cracked version can't have that features altogether. The original OEM sure beats what we have been using all these while
