Re: Garmin Mobile XT Q&A

My phone uses garmin XT 5.00.20 running on Windows Mobile.

Can I just check does your Garmin XT goes to sleep mode after some time for your windows mobile ? I remember last time when I was using the Symbian phone, I do not have this problem.

Is there any way to configure the phone or garmin software to prevent it from going to sleep mode when I am running Garmin XT ?

Thanks.

Hi dchan126, just out of curiosity.... if you export the current.gpx, will all your custom avoidance setup be copied out? If this works, this will definitely be more platform independent than backing up the nvm file.

Go to Tools > Settings > Display > Backlight Override > Always On ticked. Not sure if this setting alone suffice or it works in combination with Windows Mobile's Backlight and Power settings.

My Setting is as follows: Backlight Override > On when Navigating ticked. This setting does not send my mobile into sleep mode while navigating.

Dvpro,

Thanks for your earlier tip and I have successfully transferred the stored waypoints from my phone to the car indash system.

Garmin's GPX will only contain Waypoints, Routes and Tracks.

Is it normal that sometimes gmxt has trouble connecting to satellites? e.g. i run garmin as i enter my car, drive to town and back to my place, but i get the "Searching for Satellites" message throughout my whole journey.
in fact, it happens to me quite often.

I'm currently using Nokia E75 with Garmin Mobile XT (v5.00.50s60.9) installed.

Hey guys! New to MFM. Juz downloaded your map, and it's excellent so far. Question: I have downloaded Garmin from a source and it has City Navigator Europe 2010 NT. Currently, the one I downloaded has a gmapsupp.img file in it. Will it be OK if I copied this to my Garmin folder on my HTC TP and renaming it to something else, say gmapsupp2.img? I don't wanna override the one I already have.

It's advisable to get a GPS fix before you start moving.

Rename to GMAPPROM.IMG or GMAPSUP2.IMG (note the single "p").
