Most of the POI submissions here are in GDB format. These are just waypoints and are readable by MapSource. If you're interested in POI with audio alerts, then you should download the mfm CPOI (but Police Roadblocks are not included). The latest release is MFM-CPOI v2.07 (29/12/2009) which you can get from the 'Free Public Download' section.
