Re: Upgrade to Garmin Mobile XT 50.060

saw this in a forum regarding v6 garmin.

Code: Select all

Edited by Ioji: Hold your horses guys….
There is no new version of GarminXt .Garmin is no longer supporting symbian. Last Official version was 5.00.50. Taiwan team of Garmin subsidiary made an update for asian market known as v5.00.60. That’s it. This “so called version” is “HOME MADE”. This SIS file was modified by some hacker not by Garmin. Just look at the creation time. It seems familiar, isn’t it? Garmin never made an “unsigned” version. I know everybody wish a new version, i wish too, but this isn’t. Some enthusiasts reported that this “version” browse faster the map but still freezing if you do it fast. I think it could be a simple illusion… Not a single new feature, no JCV feature, nothing, and it’s quite normal because it isn’t official. If someone want to use it, do it on your own risk, be my guest. But only after you signed or you have a hacked phone.

it's not official version. sigh.

That is the way GPS works, it selects best route based on its program algorithm. You may fine tune by selecting fastest time or shortest route.

Route pre-selection ( using your chosen route ) is only available on its higher end models Nuvis

Nokia X6

Postby savien » Fri Aug 20, 2010 10:49 am

Hi all,

I am a newbie here... helping my uncle on his Nokia X6... seems like when I copied the latest map from the MFM-Garmin-100816.exe file... I cannot navigate properly... the phone hangs when using the Garmin.

I also see inside the SD card, it has a gmapbmap.img file... Can anyone help?

Version of the Garmin runnning is 50.06s60.9

Thanks in advance.
