Actually GMXT automatically pairs with any BT receiver nearby, no need to pair in BT Settings of PDA. Can you pls try again, after unpairing?

Hi.
1) I deleted my pairing with the Holux GPS BT Receiver.
2) Switch on the BT Receiver power.
3) Start up GMXT in my Dell PDA
4) Enable the "Use Bluetooth GPS" (the other 2 options are "Use GPS Intermediate Driver" and " Use Serial GPS")
5) Still give me the "Flight Mode must be turned off before Bluetooth can be enabled" message.

Tried enabling "Use GPS Intermediate Driver". It searched for a while and the same message appeared "Flight mode blah blah blah".

Is there a way where we can changemodify the registry of my Dell PDA to do the job? Search online but couldn't find anything.

Thanks.

in fact, it happens to me quite often.

Hmmm I encountered this quite a few times though... I notice that it seems to happen to me sporadically when I use to peer with my BT GPSr... But if I use my inbuilt phone GPSr, I don't seem to have this issue. Perhaps I did not try long enough. I am using N5800 with Holux M1000 Bluetooth GPSr and and GMXT v5.00.40.

Does GMXT have something like a yellow pages in it? So that we can search for locations by entering postal code and/or name of location?

I'm using GMXT with my Dell PDA (WM5) + Holux GPS BT Receiver.
Is there a setting in GMXT that will enable my PDA's Bluetooth whenever I startup GMXT?
Currently, I need to enable my PDA's Bluetooth manually, wait for a while (around 10 secs) for the pairing/connection to the BT receiver, and then start the GMXT program.
It will be convenient if I can just start up the GMXT program and everything will connect automatically.
Thanks.

Below is my O2 ATOM WM5 – external GPSr (Qstarz BT-1000) experience which you may want to try.

1. Components involved:
1.1 PDA (O2 or Dell)
1.2 BT Function with PDA (refer as BT)
1.3 external GPSr (Bluetooth)
1.4 GMXT
2. BT ON/OFF with PDA
Automatic BT power ON is depending on the following situation:
2.1 IF BT is ON when power-off of PDA
BT will be (automatically) ON when PDA is powered up again
(I don’t think this is what you want IMHO)
2.2 If BT is OFF when power–off PDA
BT will be in OFF status when PDA is powered up again
3. BT ON/OFF in relation with external GPSr
- Assuming PDA is ON all times
- Don’t link GPSr ON/OFF with PDA ON/OFF
- Assuming pairing has been completed before-hand
3.1 Assuming both BT and GPSr are OFF
- Turn PDA BT ON and then GPSr ON to connect both
3.2 The tricks to auto turn the BT ON (next time GPSr power up) is here
(and I think this should be what you want)
- first turn OFF the GPSr, then,
- turn OFF BT with PDA
Only with above power-OFF sequence, the next time you turn the GPSr ON, it will trigger the BT with PDA ON automatically
4. IMHO, GMXT will not and is not responsible to power ON/OFF the BT with the PDA, hence, no setting is required

Hope this can help achieving your requirement

JayCee

hi,
I just installed the new version of Garmin XT for windows mobile (version50020w) but end-up copying 3 MFM maps on my SD. Luckily got some extra memory.
It says
-MFM-SRTM(WM) TOPO V1.02
-MALFREEMAPS V1.69
-MALFREEMAPS V1.69
-MALFREEMAPS V1.69
Four maps in one folder.
Can i delete the other two v1.69 and continue to use with only one?
I'm using active sync 4.5 but it's located in my D drive.
the earliest installation was on my c drive. Does that got anything to do with this duplicates problem??
please advise

not sure about the duplication but yes, you can delete the other two v.1.69 and continue using one.
